Student Leadership

All-School Meetings & Town Halls

Nowhere is the feeling of the New Roads experience better represented than during weekly All-School Meetings (Elementary School) and Town Halls (Middle School and Upper School) when our community gathers to discuss issues affecting our school, our students, and the world. Anyone who wishes to may speak to advocate, honor, applaud, celebrate, organize, or inform.

Jag Leadership Council

At the Middle School, students can participate in Jaguar Leadership Council (JLC). Jaguar Leaders walk in the Ways of the Jag and encourage their peers to do the same. Students apply to be Jaguar Leaders at the beginning of the school year, and they will work closely with the Dean of Students, Grade-Level Deans, and Advisory teachers to lead by example and help make our Middle School delightful and abundantly student-centered.

Student Leadership Congress

Upper School Student Leadership Congress (SLC) is responsible for planning and implementing activities, representing the school at conferences, and serving as the liaison between the student body and the administration. SLC helps strengthen the sense of community, both on and off campus, for everyone connected to the school.
New Roads School is a college preparatory K-12 private independent school in Santa Monica, CA, serving over 514 school age children from the greater Los Angeles area. New Roads School provides an inspired educational program from which an authentically diverse student population, mirroring the rich diversity of Los Angeles, develops a personal dedication to learning, a respect for independent thinking, and an expanding curiosity about the world and its people.
