Welcome Dr. Jacqueline Olivier
Director for New Roads Elementary
We are delighted to welcome Dr. Jacqueline Olivier who will assume the role of Elementary School Director beginning with the 2010-2011 school year. With Dr. Olivier's arrival, our community gains a leader with rich educational experience, a keen and profound sense of purpose, a dynamic personality, a delightful sense of humor, and a kind and compassionate touch.
Dr. Olivier began her career in education as a bilingual classroom teacher, then held positions as technology director, academic dean, assistant head of school, and head of school within the independent and elementary school communities.
Dr. Olivier has shared her approach to education as follows:
What do parents want for their children and teachers for their students when they grow up? We want them to be self-sufficient, able to make a living, able to raise a family. We want them to have an appreciation of the arts, a responsibility to the environment, and a global experience and perspective. We want them to be happy and successful, to take care of their health, to be good citizens and have a set of values. As educators, we need to make sure that what we teach in schools is working toward this goal from day one. ..
2010-2011 promises to be an exciting year at New Roads Elementary School!
